Curator & Creator
Curator from Latin curare "take care of”
Globally connected and locally engaged curator, writer, cultural leader, and educator working across the arts and spatial practice.
Dedicated to breaking barriers of communication and advancing meaningful and inclusive conversations on cities and the built environment through exhibitions, public art, installation, publications, film, and events.
I weave connections between people, ideas and place, through creating images with words, and experiences through space and action.
I approach all projects and ideas with spatial and curatorial thinking.
Curatorial practice brings together skills of research and critical thinking, to create coherent stories through precise and compelling visual, spatial and written communication.
Spatial practice operates across architecture, cities, places, landscapes and art, and is concerned with modes of action and codes of conduct, culture and society.
I work with architects, artists, and organisations to help them achieve their creative visions. I associate myself with the term curator, through the Latin root of the word “curare,” “to take care,” and to care. I am attentive and empathetic, interested in people, their motivations and varied experiences of the world. I promote spectral awareness and creating nurturing environments for humans and more than humans. I am humbled and inspired by First Nations ways of being, knowing and doing and want to fight for a future of self-determination and structural change to create a better world for all.
I have over 20 years’ experience working on a cultural world stage, principally at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. My expertise and knowledge are sought on boards, juries and for public speaking in Australia and internationally.
I am pursuing project-based work, with and for others, alongside my own creative endeavours.
